...FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 830 PM EDT THIS EVENING FOR CENTRAL MERCER, NORTH CENTRAL BURLINGTON AND SOUTHEASTERN BUCKS COUNTIES... At 702 PM EDT, emergency management reported thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area with numerous instances of flash flooding near and along Interstate 195. Between 0.5 and 1.5 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts up to 0.5 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is already occurring. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE...Emergency management reported. IMPACT...Flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets, and underpasses as well as other drainage and low lying areas. Some locations that may experience flash flooding include... Trenton, Ewing, Princeton, Florence, Burlington, Bristol, Bordentown, Yardley, Tullytown, Langhorne, White Horse and Mercerville-Hamilton Square. This includes the following highways... Interstate 295 in New Jersey between mile markers 57 and 72. New Jersey Turnpike between exits 6 and 6A...and near exit 8. Interstate 195 in New Jersey between mile markers 0 and 7. Interstate 95 in Pennsylvania between mile markers 39 and 40. Pennsylvania Turnpike between mile markers 354 and 359. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... ...HEAT ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 8 PM EDT SATURDAY... * WHAT...Heat index values up to 102 degrees. * WHERE...Portions of northern Delaware, central, northern, and southern New Jersey, and southeast Pennsylvania. * WHEN...Until 8 PM EDT Saturday. * IMPACTS...Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illnesses. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Warm and very humid conditions at night will not offer much relief from the heat and humidity. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke. To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in shaded or air conditioned environments.
