East central Bradford County in northeastern Pennsylvania... * Until 245 PM EDT. * At 221 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Wysox, or near Towanda, moving east at 40 mph. HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and half dollar size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage to roofs, siding, and trees. * Locations impacted include... Rush, Towanda, Wysox, North Towanda, Herrick, Wyalusing, Monroe, Le Raysville, Monroeton, and Rushville. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building. Large hail, damaging wind, and continuous cloud to ground lightning are occurring with this storm. Move indoors immediately. Lightning is one of nature's leading killers. Remember, if you can hear thunder, you are close enough to be struck by lightning. Heavy rainfall is occurring with this storm, and may lead to flash flooding. At 217 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a cluster of strong thunderstorms over Monroeton, or near Towanda, moving east at 40 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Locations impacted include... Towanda, Wysox, North Towanda, Herrick, Wyalusing, Monroe, Rome, Le Raysville, Monroeton, and Brushville. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. Heavy rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
