Southwestern Chester County in southeastern Pennsylvania...

* Until 700 PM EDT.

* At 300 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain
have fallen. The expected rainfall rate is 1 to 3 inches in 1
hour. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches are possible in
the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
shortly.

HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

IMPACT...Flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,
highways, streets, and underpasses as well as other
drainage and low lying areas.

* Some locations that may experience flash flooding include...
Kennett Square, Oxford, West Grove, Kemblesville, Landenberg,
North Star, Mount Vernon, Hockessin, Glen Roy, Avondale and
Toughkenamon.

FOR NORTHWESTERN NEW CASTLE AND SOUTHWESTERN CHESTER COUNTIES...

At 251 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located over Lombard, or 10
miles northwest of Elkton, moving east at 20 mph.

HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Damage to roofs, siding, trees, and power lines is
possible.

Locations impacted include...
Newark, Oxford, West Grove, Glen Roy, Pike Creek, Kemblesville, North
Star, Landenberg, Hockessin, Avondale, and Toughkenamon.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm. Move
indoors immediately. Lightning is one of nature's leading killers.

by lightning.

Torrential rainfall is occurring with this storm, and may lead to

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible.

* WHERE...Portions of northern Delaware, including the following
area, New Castle, New Jersey, including the following areas,
Camden, Gloucester, Hunterdon, Mercer, Middlesex, Northwestern
Burlington, Salem, Somerset and Western Monmouth, and
Pennsylvania, including the following areas, Berks, Delaware,
Eastern Chester, Eastern Montgomery, Lower Bucks, Philadelphia,
Upper Bucks, Western Chester and Western Montgomery.

* WHEN...From 2 PM EDT this afternoon through late tonight.

* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- Another round of heavy showers and thunderstorms is expected
to develop Tuesday afternoon and continue into the evening.
These storms will have the potential to bring rainfall
amounts of 1 to 3 inches within a brief period of time
leading to flash flooding. Localized total rainfall amounts
up to 4 inches will be possible before showers and storms
wind down overnight Tuesday night.
