The National Weather Service in Cleveland has issued a * Severe Thunderstorm Warning for... Erie County in northwestern Pennsylvania... * Until 1100 PM EDT. * At 942 PM EDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from 21 miles north of Erie to 14 miles north of Girard to 19 miles north of North Kingsville, moving southeast at 40 mph. HAZARD...Two inch hail and 70 mph wind gusts. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...People and animals outdoors will be injured. Expect hail damage to roofs, siding, windows, and vehicles. Expect considerable tree damage. Wind damage is also likely to mobile homes, roofs, and outbuildings. * Locations impacted include... Erie, Corry, Edinboro, North East, Union City, Girard, Waterford, Albion, Wattsburg, Northwest Harborcreek, Harborcreek, Lawrence Park, Wesleyville, Lake City, Cranesville, Platea, Mill Village, McKean, Elgin, and Northwest Harborcr. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building. Prepare immediately for large hail and damaging winds. At 933 PM EDT, severe thunderstorms capable of producing waterspouts, strong winds, and large hail were located along a line extending from 30 nm west of Ripley to 19 nm northwest of Erie to 24 nm north of Ashtabula, moving east at 35 knots. HAZARD...Waterspouts, wind gusts in excess of 50 knots, and large destructive hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Waterspouts can easily overturn boats and create locally hazardous seas. Boats could suffer significant structural damage in high winds and hail. Small craft could capsize in suddenly higher waves. Locations impacted include... Erie and Conneaut. At 928 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near Northwest Harborcreek, or 8 miles north of Erie, moving east at 25 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and half inch hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible. Locations impacted include... Erie, North East, Northwest Harborcreek, Harborcreek, Lawrence Park, Wesleyville, and Northwest Harborcr. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
