At 259 PM EST, radar indicated an area of snow showers extending from Mentor and Kirtland to Erie Pennsylvania moving northeast at 30 mph. This area of snow will impact motorists traveling on Interstate 90 and Route 20. HAZARDS INCLUDE... Winds to 40 mph... Visibility ranging from 1 mile to a quarter mile or less... Up to 1 inch of quick snow accumulation... Locations impacted include... Erie, Painesville, Ashtabula, Conneaut, Fairport Harbor, Geneva-On-The-Lake, Mentor, Willoughby, Eastlake, Edinboro, Geneva, North East, Madison, Girard, North Kingsville, Perry, Waterford, Albion, Wattsburg, and Northwest Harborcreek. Use extra caution if you must travel. Rapid changes in visibility and potentially slick roads may lead to accidents.

Winds gusting as high as 50 mph along the immediate lakeshore. * WHERE...Northern Erie and Southern Erie Counties. * WHEN...Until 1 AM EST Saturday. * IMPACTS...Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, will likely become slick and hazardous. Plan on slippery road conditions with slower travel likely. The hazardous conditions could impact the Friday evening commute. Gusty winds could bring down tree branches. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Snowfall rates of up to one inch per hour will accompany the strongest portion of the band this afternoon and early evening. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Slow down and use caution while traveling. The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation and Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission strongly encourage motorists to heed all travel restrictions and delay unnecessary travel.
