...FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 1030 PM EDT THIS EVENING FOR NORTHERN FAYETTE AND SOUTHERN WESTMORELAND COUNTIES... At 954 PM EDT, Another round of rain over the next hour will maintain the Flash Flood threat. So far, reports have been received from around the Connellsville area where between 0.5 and 1.8 inches of rain have fallen so far. Additional rain will see rates between 0.5 to 1.5 inches per hour until 1030 PM. Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch will be possible in the warned area. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE...Public reported. IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas. Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Connellsville, California, Mount Pleasant, Scottdale, Brownsville, South Connellsville, Perryopolis, Seven Springs, Dunbar, West Brownsville, Everson, Fayette City, Allenport, Vanderbilt, Dawson, Grindstone, Centerville, Donegal, Champion and Mill Run. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding. Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.
