East Central Allegheny County in southwestern Pennsylvania... * Until 815 PM EDT. * At 710 PM EDT, local law enforcement reported thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Another heavy thunderstorm is now moving into the area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts up to 0.5 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is already occurring. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE...Law enforcement reported flooded roadways across the warned area. IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas. * Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Pittsburgh, Penn Hills, Monroeville, Shaler Township, Plum, Wilkinsburg, Swissvale, O'hara Township, Forest Hills, Wilkins Township, Oakmont, Fox Chapel, Turtle Creek, Millvale and Etna. Streams continue to rise due to excess runoff from earlier rainfall. Low-water crossings are inundated with water and may not be passable. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 555 PM EDT, local law enforcement reported roadway flooding and rapid rises in creeks and streams bringing them out of their banks.
