...FLOOD WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL 430 PM EDT THIS AFTERNOON... * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...North Central Westmoreland County in southwestern Pennsylvania... Armstrong County in west central Pennsylvania... Southeastern Butler County in west central Pennsylvania... Northeastern Indiana County in west central Pennsylvania... Southwestern Jefferson PA County in west central Pennsylvania... * WHEN...Until 430 PM EDT. * IMPACTS...Streams continue to rise due to excess runoff from earlier rainfall. Low-water crossings are inundated with water and may not be passable. It will take several hours for all the water from these storms to work through local drainage systems in urban areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1116 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the warned area. Between 1.5 and 3 inches of rain have fallen. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Punxsutawney, Vandergrift, Kittanning, Apollo, Ford City, Leechburg, Sarver, Freeport, West Kittanning, Saxonburg, North Apollo, West Leechburg, Orchard Hills, Rural Valley, Oklahoma, East Vandergrift, Worthington, Dayton and West Hills. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Central Washington County in southwestern Pennsylvania... Western Westmoreland County in southwestern Pennsylvania... Southwestern Butler County in west central Pennsylvania... Central Beaver County in western Pennsylvania... * WHEN...Until 430 PM EDT Sunday. * IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Streams continue to rise due to excess runoff from earlier rainfall. It will take several hours for all the water from these storms to work through local drainage systems in urban areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 951 AM EDT, fire rescue personnel have reported flooding occuring over area roadways.
