The National Weather Service in Pittsburgh has extended the * Flash Flood Warning for... Southwestern Washington County in southwestern Pennsylvania... * Until 200 AM EDT. * At 1106 PM EDT, Between 1.5 and 3.0 inches of rain have fallen, and between 0.25 to 0.80 inches of additional rain will be possible with and additional round of showers and storms based off upstream radar estimated accumulations and rainfall rates in the warned area. Flash flooding is already occurring. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE...Law enforcement reported. IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas. * Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Washington and Green Hills. As of 11PM local law enforcement continues to report ongoing flooding to numerous roads across the warned area, including Route 18, and areas near Route 19 and Interstate 79. Water was up to the doors on several cars. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding. Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads. && FLASH FLOOD...OBSERVED
