...FLOOD WARNING NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL FRIDAY MORNING... * WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Wilson River near Tillamook. * WHEN...Until Friday morning. * IMPACTS...Above 15.5 feet, expect widespread flooding in the north part of Tillamook along Hwy 101 from Hoquarton Slough north to the Tillamook Creamery, especially during high tides. The most noticable flood impacts are to low-lying roads and some buildings near Dougherty Slough and the lower Wilson River. Widespread flooding of low lying dairy and pasture land and some rural access roads from Wilson River Loop Road downstream to Hwy 101 and along Makinster Rd and Goodspeed Rd west of Hwy 101 can be expected as well. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 3:30 PM PST Wednesday the stage was 9.1 feet. - Bankfull stage is 10.5 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage early Thursday afternoon and crest around 15.0 feet late Thursday evening. Dairy farms, buildings, and a few residences adjacent to the Trask in the vicinity of Hwy 101 may be threatened. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 3:00 PM PST Wednesday the stage was 11.7 feet. - Bankfull stage is 15.0 feet. - Forecast...The river will rise above flood stage Thursday evening and crest around 17.0 feet late Thursday evening. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Storm drains and ditches may become clogged with debris. Area creeks and streams are running high and could flood with more heavy rain. Landslides and debris flows are possible during this flood event. People, structures, and roads located below steep slopes, in canyons, and near the mouths of canyons may be at serious risk from rapidly moving landslides. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - An atmospheric river is forecast to bring periods of heavy rain to northwestern Oregon and southwestern Washington at a time when area rivers continue to run high and soils remain saturated following heavy rain earlier in the month. During initial heavy rainfall on Thursday, the urban and small stream flooding threat will be most urgent, although the details of precise timing and location of the highest risk remains uncertain at this time. For the Storm Watch, seas 14 to 19 ft at 12 seconds and southwest winds 30 to 40 kt with gusts up to 55 kt possible. * WHERE...Coastal waters from Cape Falcon to Cape Foulweather OR out 10 NM and Coastal waters from Cape Foulweather to Florence OR out 10 NM. * WHEN...Hazardous Seas Warning, until 4 AM PST Thursday. Storm Watch, from late tonight through Thursday evening. * IMPACTS...Very strong winds will cause hazardous seas which could capsize or damage vessels and reduce visibility. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...A coastal jet is forecast to develop with gusts up to 55 kt south of Rockaway Beach.
