For the Smoke Air Quality Advisory, wildfires burning in the region combined with forecasted conditions will cause air quality to reach unhealthy levels. Pollutants in smoke can cause burning eyes, runny nose, aggravate heart and lung diseases, and aggravate other serious health problems. Limit outdoor activities and keep children indoors if it is smoky. Please follow medical advice if you have a heart or lung condition. The National Weather Service in Pendleton has issued a Red Flag Warning for wind and low relative humidity, which is in effect from 11 AM Friday to 11 PM PDT Saturday. The Fire Weather Watch is no longer in effect. * AFFECTED AREA...Fire Weather Zone 701 Eastern Columbia River Gorge of Oregon. * TIMING...From 11 AM Friday to 11 PM PDT Saturday. * WINDS...West 10 to 20 mph with gusts of 20 to 30 mph, strongest on Saturday. * RELATIVE HUMIDITY...As low as 15 percent, lowest Friday. * IMPACTS...Any fire that develops will catch and spread quickly.
