The National Weather Service in Pendleton has issued a Fire Weather Watch for abundant lightning, which is in effect from Wednesday afternoon through Thursday morning. * AFFECTED AREA...Fire Weather Zones 700 Central Mountains of Oregon and 705 Southern Deschutes National Forest. * TIMING...For the Red Flag Warning, from 2 PM to 11 PM PDT Tuesday. For the Fire Weather Watch, from Wednesday afternoon through Thursday morning. * IMPACTS...Any fire that develops will catch and spread quickly. Outdoor burning is not recommended. * THUNDERSTORMS...Scattered coverage with abundant lightning as well as 10-40% chances of dry isolated storms embedded. * OUTFLOW WINDS...Gusty erratic winds up to 45-60 mph. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now, or will shortly.
