EVENING FOR THUNDERSTORMS FOR EASTERN COMBINED TEXAS AND
OKLAHOMA PANHANDLES...

The National Weather Service in Amarillo has issued a Red Flag
Warning for thunderstorms, which is in effect from noon today to
8 PM CDT this evening. The Fire Weather Watch is no longer in
effect.

* LIGHTNING...Dry thunderstorms could lead to fire starts.

* OUTFLOW WINDS...Thunderstorm wind gusts will create strong
sporadic winds for fires. Up to 70 mph winds are possible with
severe thunderstorms.

* IMPACTS...Any fires that develop will have the potential to
spread rapidly. Outdoor burning is not recommended.

* SEVERITY...

FUELS (ERC)...90th+ percentile...5 (out of 5).

WEATHER...Elevated...1 (out of 5).

FIRE ENVIRONMENT...6 (out of 10).

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are either occurring now...or will shortly. A combination of
strong winds...low relative humidity...and warm temperatures will
create favorable weather for rapid fire growth and spread. Avoid
activities that promote open flames and sparks.

...HEAT ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 9 PM CDT THIS EVENING...

* WHAT...High temperatures up to 107 with overnight lows in the 70s.

* WHERE...Eastern and portions of the central combined Panhandles.

* WHEN...Until 9 PM CDT this evening.

* IMPACTS...Hot temperatures may cause heat illnesses.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of
the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.

Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose
fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning
or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and
heat stroke.
