...AN AREA OF STRONG THUNDERSTORMS WILL IMPACT NORTHWESTERN LITTLE
RIVER...HOWARD...SEVIER AND MCCURTAIN COUNTIES UNTIL 615 PM CDT...

At 454 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking an area of strong
thunderstorms 19 miles north of Broken Bow, or 23 miles northwest of
De Queen, moving south at 15 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph and nickel size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects is
possible.

Locations impacted include...
De Queen, Dierks, Horatio, Umpire, Broken Bow, Lockesburg, Gillham,
Corinth, Athens, Center Point, Wright City, Hochatown, Eagletown,
West Line, Plunketville, Watson, Cerrogordo, West Otis and
Sherwood.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Monitor the weather situation closely and be alert for threatening
weather conditions.

This storm may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio
stations and available television stations for additional information
and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.

If on or near any lakes, get out of the water and move indoors or
inside a vehicle. Remember, lightning can strike out to 10 miles from
the parent thunderstorm. If you can hear thunder, you are close
enough to be struck by lightning. Move to safe shelter now! Do not be
caught on the water in a thunderstorm.

Persons in campgrounds should consider seeking sturdy shelter until
this storm passes.
