Some low-lying areas near the river may be isolated by high water in side channels. Areas along the river near Davidson Oklahoma begin to flood several hours before the crest approaches the Burkburnett area. The flood crest reaches the area along the river near Taylor Oklahoma several hours later. Cattle and other property should be relocated to places which are 1 foot higher than nearby river banks to avoid being stranded. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 8:30 AM CDT Friday the stage was 10.5 feet. - Bankfull stage is 9.0 feet. - Forecast...The Red River is expected to remain near 10.5 feet through Friday evening and then begin falling. ...FLOOD WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL 545 PM CDT THIS AFTERNOON... * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...Portions of Oklahoma, including the following counties, Comanche, Cotton, Jackson, Jefferson, Stephens and Tillman and northern Texas, including the following counties, Clay, Foard, Hardeman, Wichita and Wilbarger. * WHEN...Until 545 PM CDT Friday. * IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is occurring. Streams continue to rise due to excess runoff from earlier rainfall. It will take several hours for all the water from these storms to work through local drainage systems. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 840 AM CDT, gauge reports indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Flooding is ongoing in the warned area. Between 1 and 4 inches of rain had fallen earlier. - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
