...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 AM CDT EARLY THIS MORNING... * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...Portions of Arkansas, including the following counties, Crawford, Franklin and Sebastian and southeast Oklahoma, including the following counties, Haskell, Latimer and Le Flore. * WHEN...Until 600 AM CDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 252 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 0.5 and 2.5 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Fort Smith... Van Buren... Poteau... Charleston... Greenwood... Barling... Pocola... ...FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 9 AM CDT SATURDAY... * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...Portions of Arkansas, including the following counties, Benton, Crawford, Sebastian and Washington AR and Oklahoma, including the following counties, Adair, Cherokee, Haskell, Latimer, Le Flore, McIntosh, Muskogee, Pittsburg, Pushmataha and Sequoyah. * WHEN...Until 9 AM CDT Saturday. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Widespread showers and thunderstorms will move slowly southward across eastern Oklahoma and northwest Arkansas late tonight through early Saturday morning.
