...FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 430 PM EDT THIS AFTERNOON... * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues. * WHERE...Portions of north central and northwest Ohio, including the following counties, in north central Ohio, Crawford, Huron and Richland. In northwest Ohio, Seneca and Wyandot. * WHEN...Until 430 PM EDT. * IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Numerous roads remain closed due to flooding. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 254 PM EDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated slow moving thunderstorms with very heavy rainfall across the warned area. Between 1.5 and 3 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch are possible in the warned area. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Tiffin, Fostoria, Willard, New London, Plymouth, New Washington, Bloomville, Sycamore, New Riegel, Chatfield, Carey, Greenwich, Attica, Benton, North Fairfield, Republic and Bascom. - Please visit www.weather.gov/safety/flood for flood safety and preparedness information. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Stay away or be swept away. ...FLOOD WARNING NOW IN EFFECT FROM THIS AFTERNOON TO EARLY FRIDAY MORNING... * WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Sandusky River at Tiffin. * WHEN...From this afternoon to early Friday morning. * IMPACTS...At 10.5 feet, Flooding occurs along the Sandusky River near Route 53 north of U.S. 224. Flood waters will also cause Township Road 131 to become impassable. In town Water Street, Front Street, and Davis Street are inundated. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 12:45 PM EDT Wednesday the stage was 9.3 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 10.4 feet just after midnight tonight.
