* WHAT...For the Small Craft Advisory, southwest winds 20 to 30
knots with gusts up to 40 knots and waves 2 to 5 feet
expected. For the Low Water Advisory, abnormally low water
levels expected.

* WHERE...The nearshore waters of Lake Erie from Maumee Bay to
Vermilion OH.

* WHEN...For the Small Craft Advisory, from 8 PM this evening to
8 PM EDT Thursday. For the Low Water Advisory, from 4 AM to 4
PM EDT Thursday.

* IMPACTS...Conditions will be hazardous to small craft. Below
normal water levels will result in hazardous navigating
conditions.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Southwest winds 25 to 30 knots may cause
water levels in the western basin of Lake Erie to drop near or
below the critical mark for safe navigation which is 13 inches
above low water datum.


PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Inexperienced mariners, especially those operating smaller
vessels, should avoid navigating in hazardous conditions.

Mariners should navigate shallow waters with extreme caution due
to below normal water levels.

EVENING...

* WHAT...High risk of rip currents expected.

* WHERE...In Ohio, Lucas, Ottawa, Erie, Lorain, Cuyahoga, Lake
and Ashtabula Lakeshore Counties. In Pennsylvania, Northern
Erie County.

* WHEN...From 8 PM EDT this evening through Thursday evening.

* IMPACTS...Wind and wave action will cause currents on the
lakeshore. Swimmers should not enter the water. Currents can
carry swimmers away from shore through a sand bar and along
structures extending out into the lake.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Remain out of the water to avoid hazardous swimming conditions.
