Southern Pike County in south central Ohio... Northern Scioto County in south central Ohio... * WHEN...Until 800 AM EDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 355 AM EDT, radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 0.5 and 1.5 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1.5 inches are possible. - Some locations that may experience flooding include... Peebles, Lucasville, Clarktown, Rarden, Otway, Mount Joy, Ladd, Bear Creek, Wakefield, Poplar Grove, Smoky Corners, Locust Grove, Germany, Serpent Mound, Stockdale, Minford and May Hill. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. ...FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 AM EDT THIS MORNING FOR NORTHERN ADAMS, CENTRAL HIGHLAND, PIKE AND SOUTHWESTERN ROSS COUNTIES... At 253 AM EDT, local law enforcement reported flash flooding across the warned area. Between 2.5 and 5.5 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are possible. HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing flash flooding. SOURCE...Law enforcement and local EMA reported significant flooding occurring near the Highland County Fairgrounds, with rushing water on SR-73. Additionally, multiple water rescues are being reported out of Pike County. IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses.
