...FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 1015 PM EDT THIS EVENING FOR CENTRAL GALLIA AND NORTHWESTERN MASON COUNTIES... At 844 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms produced heavy rain across the warned area earlier this evening. Between 1 and 1.5 inches of rain have fallen. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. Flooding has been reported along CR-16 north of Point Pleasant. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE...Radar. IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas. Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Point Pleasant, Gallipolis, Rio Grande, Henderson, Cheshire and Adamsville. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
