EDT /8 PM CDT/ THIS EVENING...

* WHAT...Heat index values up to 101 expected. Locally, heat indices
may reach 104 degrees.

* WHERE...Portions of northern Indiana, southwest Michigan, and
northwest Ohio.

* WHEN...From noon EDT /11 AM CDT/ today to 9 PM EDT /8 PM CDT/ this
evening.

* IMPACTS...Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat
illnesses.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose
fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning
or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and
heat stroke.

To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety and
Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in
shaded or air conditioned environments. Anyone overcome by heat
should be moved to a cool and shaded location. Heat stroke is an
emergency! Call 9 1 1.

...PATCHY DENSE FOG OVERNIGHT...

Patchy dense fog was forming rapidly overnight over northwest
Ohio, far northeast Indiana and into adjacent counties of Lower
Michigan. The dense fog is likely to become more widespread toward
dawn. If you are traveling overnight, be prepared for sudden
drops in the visibility. Most if not all of the fog should lift by
9 AM EDT.
