...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 630 PM EDT THIS EVENING...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...The following counties, in central Ohio, Delaware and
Franklin.

* WHEN...Until 630 PM EDT.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 328 PM EDT, Radar and automated rain gauges indicated
heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or
expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 1.5
and 3 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts
of 0.5 to 1 inch are possible.
- Some locations that may experience flooding include...
Columbus, Dublin, Westerville, Upper Arlington, Hilliard,
Worthington, Powell, Minerva Park, Polaris, Riverlea,
Clintonville, Huber Ridge and Center Village.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

...HEAT ADVISORY NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 8 PM EDT FRIDAY...

* WHAT...Heat index values in the upper 90s to lower 100s.

* WHERE...Portions of east central and southeast Indiana, northeast
and northern Kentucky, and central, south central, southwest, and
west central Ohio.

* WHEN...Until 8 PM EDT Friday.

* IMPACTS...Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat
illnesses.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Consecutive days of high heat and humidity
can be especially hazardous as warm overnight temperatures will
provide little relief.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in air-conditioned rooms, stay out of
the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.

Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose
fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning
or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and
heat stroke.
