...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 7 AM THIS MORNING TO 1 AM EST SATURDAY... * WHAT...Snow and blowing snow expected. Total snow accumulations between 2 and 4 inches, with locally higher amounts possible in the higher terrain of the snowbelt. Winds gusting as high as 45 mph this evening and tonight. * WHERE...Portions of north central and northeast Ohio. * WHEN...From 7 AM this morning to 1 AM EST Saturday. * IMPACTS...Plan on slippery road conditions. Patchy blowing snow can reduce visibility this evening and tonight. The hazardous conditions could impact the Friday morning and evening commutes. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...A period of light to moderate snow is expected this morning, with snow covered roads possible during and after the morning commute. After a few hours of dry weather this afternoon, snow showers and squalls, wind gusts up to 45 mph, and falling temperatures will lead to blowing and drifting snow and hazardous road conditions this evening. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Slow down and use caution while traveling. The Ohio Department of Transportation and Ohio Turnpike and Infrastructure Commission strongly encourage motorists to heed all travel restrictions and delay unnecessary travel. ...COLD WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 1 AM TO NOON EST SATURDAY... * WHAT...Very cold wind chills as low as 20 below expected. * WHERE...Portions of north central, northeast, and northwest Ohio. * WHEN...From 1 AM to noon EST Saturday. * IMPACTS...The cold wind chills as low as 25 below zero could cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 30 minutes. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Wind chill values may drop as low as 15 below zero again late Saturday night into Sunday morning for portions of Northeast Ohio and additional cold weather advisories may be issued. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Use caution while traveling outside. Wear appropriate clothing, a hat, and gloves. Keep pets indoors as much as possible.
