...HEAT ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 11 AM THIS MORNING TO 8 PM EDT THIS EVENING... * WHAT...Peak heat index values will range from the upper 90s up to 102 degrees Wednesday afternoon. * WHERE...Ashtabula Inland, Ashtabula Lakeshore, Geauga, Holmes, Lake, Mahoning, Portage, Stark, and Trumbull Counties. * WHEN...From 11 AM this morning to 8 PM EDT this evening. * IMPACTS...Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illnesses. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Overnight lows tonight will only drop to the low to mid 70s which will provide limited nighttime relief from the heat. Hot and humid conditions will continue on Thursday, and portions of the Heat Advisory may need to be extended. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in shaded or air conditioned environments.
