...FLOOD WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL 815 PM EDT THIS EVENING... * WHAT...Urban area and small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...A portion of northwest Ohio, including the following counties, Hancock, Wood and Wyandot. * WHEN...Until 815 PM EDT. * IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Streams continue to rise due to excess runoff from earlier rainfall. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 416 PM EDT, gauge reports indicated heavy rain. Flooding is already occurring in the warned area. Between 1.5 and 3 inches of rain have fallen. - Lye Creek has reached minor flood stage. At 4 PM EDT, the creek was at 6.02 feet. Additional rises across area streams are likely this evening. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Findlay, Fostoria, McComb, Arlington, Arcadia, Rawson, Vanlue, Van Buren, Bloomdale, Mount Blanchard, Benton Ridge, Jenera, Mount Cory, Bairdstown and Williamstown. - Please visit www.weather.gov/safety/flood for flood safety and preparedness information. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. In northwest Ohio, Seneca and Wyandot. * WHEN...Until 730 PM EDT. * IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Numerous roads remain closed due to flooding. Low-water crossings are inundated with water and may not be passable. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 352 PM EDT, At 3:50 PM EDT,the public reported heavy rain across the warning area. Flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the warned area. Between 1.5 and 3 inches of rain have fallen. Area river gauges continue to rise across the warned area. - Additional rainfall amounts up to 0.5 inches are possible in the warned area. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Tiffin, Fostoria, Willard, New London, Plymouth, New Washington, Bloomville, Sycamore, New Riegel, Chatfield, Carey, Greenwich, Attica, Benton, North Fairfield, Republic and Bascom. - Please visit www.weather.gov/safety/flood for flood safety and preparedness information.
