Southeastern Franklin County in central Ohio... Southwestern Licking County in central Ohio... Northeastern Pickaway County in central Ohio... * WHEN...Until 315 PM EDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1211 PM EDT, radar and automated rain gauges indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch are possible. - Some locations that may experience flooding include... Columbus, Reynoldsburg, Grove City, Gahanna, Pickerington, Bexley, Pataskala, Canal Winchester, Groveport, Ashville, South Bloomfield, Summit Station, Beechwood Trails, Whitehall, Etna, Obetz, Lithopolis, Kirkersville, Lockbourne and Brice. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. ...FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT THROUGH THIS EVENING... * WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...Portions of Kentucky, including the following counties, Bracken, Lewis, Mason and Robertson and Ohio, including the following counties, Adams, Brown, Fairfield, Franklin, Highland, Hocking, Licking, Pickaway, Pike, Ross and Scioto. * WHEN...Through this evening. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Scattered thunderstorms with locally heavy downpours are expected into the evening. With the ground already saturated in many locations from rain the past few days, rapid runoff of the rainfall could lead to localized flash flooding. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... People in the watch area should keep an eye on the weather and be prepared for immediate action should heavy rains and flooding occur or a Flash Flood Warning be issued.
