Issued: 2:49 PM Jan. 15, 2026 – National Weather Service
...LAKE EFFECT SNOW WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 PM EST THIS
EVENING...

* WHAT...Heavy lake effect snow. Widely variable additional
accumulations of 1 to 7 inches.

* WHERE...Lorain, Medina, Cuyahoga, Summit, Lake, Geauga, Portage,
and Ashtabula Counties.

* WHEN...Until 7 PM EST this evening.

* IMPACTS...Travel will be difficult due to periods of snow covered
roads and sharply reduced visibility. The hazardous conditions may
impact this evening's commute.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...The greatest additional accumulations will
occur across the higher terrain in parts of southern Lorain,
Medina, southern and eastern Cuyahoga, far northern Summit, and
far northern Portage Counties. Southern Summit and Portage
Counties will see much lighter amounts, with generally lighter
amounts near the lakeshore too.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

The Ohio Department of Transportation and Ohio Turnpike and
Infrastructure Commission strongly encourage motorists to heed all
travel restrictions and delay unnecessary travel. Visit www.ohgo.com
for the latest travel, roadway, and traffic conditions.

Persons should delay all travel if possible. If travel is absolutely
necessary, drive with extreme caution and be prepared for sudden
changes in visibility. Leave plenty of room between you and the
motorist ahead of you, and allow extra time to reach your
destination. Avoid sudden braking or acceleration, and be especially
cautious on hills or when making turns. Make sure your car is
winterized and in good working order.

...HEAVY FREEZING SPRAY WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 2 PM EST
THIS AFTERNOON...
...SMALL CRAFT ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 PM EST
SATURDAY...

* WHAT...For the Heavy Freezing Spray Warning, heavy freezing
