...LAKE EFFECT SNOW WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 PM EST THURSDAY... * WHAT...Heavy lake enhanced snow. Snow accumulations of 4 to 8 inches, with the greatest accumulations across inland Lorain County and northern portions of Medina, Summit, and Portage Counties. * WHERE...Lorain, Medina, Portage, and Summit Counties. * WHEN...Until 7 PM EST Thursday. * IMPACTS...Travel will be very difficult due to slick and snow covered roads and reduced visibility. Patchy blowing snow is likely tonight and Thursday. The hazardous conditions will impact the Wednesday evening and Thursday morning commutes. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Rain will quickly change to accumulating snow late this afternoon or early this evening. Rapidly falling temperatures will lead to roads becoming snow covered and icy this evening, with very poor road conditions expected tonight into Thursday. Minimum wind chills of near 0 degrees are expected late tonight and Thursday morning. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... The Ohio Department of Transportation and Ohio Turnpike and Infrastructure Commission strongly encourage motorists to heed all travel restrictions and delay unnecessary travel. If travel is absolutely necessary, drive with extreme caution and be prepared for sudden changes in visibility.
