MONTGOMERY...AND SOUTHERN SARATOGA COUNTIES...

HAZARDS...A band of heavy snow accompanied by winds of up to 40 MPH
which can rapidly reduce visibility to less than one mile.

LOCATION AND MOVEMENT...At 935 PM EST, a band of heavy snow was along
a line extending from 6 miles north of Springfield to Scotia and
moving east at 50 MPH.

LOCATIONS IMPACTED INCLUDE...
Albany, Schenectady, Clifton Park, Rotterdam, Amsterdam, Cohoes,
Watervliet, Johnstown, Colonie, Scotia, Canajoharie, Fonda, Latham,
Guilderland, Glenville, Niskayuna, Duanesburg, Menands, Green Island,
and Fort Plain.

This includes the following highways...
Interstate 88 between exits 24 and 25.
Interstate 90 between exits 6A and 29.
Interstate 890 between exits 1a and 9.
Interstate 87 between exits 24 and 7, and between exits 8A and 10.
Interstate 787 between exits 5 and 9.

...WIND ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 1 AM EST SATURDAY...

* WHAT...West winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 50 mph.

* WHERE...Portions of northwestern Connecticut, eastern New York,
and southern Vermont.

* WHEN...Until 1 AM EST Saturday.

* IMPACTS...Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree
limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Winds continue to change direction this
afternoon to the west with the cold front moving through. Once the
front has passed, westerly winds continue into tonight. Winds
increase once again for the overnight hours tonight.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high
profile vehicles. Use extra caution.
