...AREAS OF FOG OVER THE OCEAN WATERS SOUTH OF LONG ISLAND INTO THIS EVENING... Areas of fog are likely to develop over the ocean waters south of Long Island, and continue into this evening ahead of an approaching cold front. The fog could become locally dense, with visibilities below 1 nm at times, and a Marine Dense Fog Advisory may eventually be needed. If you encounter fog, reduce your speed, keep a lookout for other vessels, buoys, and breakwaters, and keep your navigation lights on. If not equipped with radar, you should consider seeking safe harbor.
