...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 1115 PM EDT THIS EVENING...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...A portion of east central New York, including the
following counties, Greene, Schoharie and Ulster.

* WHEN...Until 1115 PM EDT.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
This area has already experienced heavy rain over the past few
days and is therefore more vulnerable to renewed flooding as
additional moderate to heavy rain falls this evening.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 814 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain. Minor
flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the
advisory area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen.
- Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are expected over
the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Hunter, Jefferson, Windham, Gilboa, Summit, Prattsville,
Phoenicia, Lanesville, Woodland Valley Campground, Mount
Tremper, North Blenheim, West Shokan, Preston-Potter Hollow,
Shandaken, Ashland, Jewett, Lexington, Conesville, Denning
and West Kill.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.

* WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be
possible.

* WHERE...A portion of east central New York, including the
following areas, Eastern Columbia, Eastern Dutchess, Eastern
Greene, Eastern Ulster, Schoharie, Western Albany, Western
Columbia, Western Dutchess, Western Greene and Western Ulster.

* WHEN...Until 2 AM EDT Wednesday.

* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding may occur
in poor drainage and urban areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- An area of heavy rain and thunderstorms are expected to move
over the area through this evening resulting in the potential
for locally heavy rainfall and flash flooding. Localized
rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are possible.
