...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 5 PM EST THIS AFTERNOON... * WHAT...Snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 3 to 5 inches, with locally 6 to 9 inches. Winds gusting 40 to 45 mph. * WHERE...Northeast Suffolk and Southeast Suffolk Counties. * WHEN...Until 5 PM EST this afternoon. * IMPACTS...Plan on slippery road conditions. Gusty winds could bring down tree branches. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...The highest snowfall totals will be very localized and across the far end of the Twin Forks, near Orient and Montauk. Amounts will drop off west of Riverhead. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Slow down and use caution while traveling. For the Freezing Spray Advisory, moderate accumulation of freezing spray expected. * WHERE...New York Harbor, including Raritan Bay and Sandy Hook Bay, and Peconic and Gardiners Bays. * WHEN...For the Gale Warning, from 6 AM this morning to 6 AM EST Sunday. For the Freezing Spray Advisory, from 1 PM this afternoon to noon EST Sunday. * IMPACTS...Operating a vessel in freezing spray is hazardous. Freezing spray may render mechanical and electronic components inoperative. Ice accretion on decks and superstructures may result in some loss of stability. Strong winds will cause hazardous waves which could capsize or damage vessels and reduce visibility. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
