...FLOOD WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL 1215 AM EDT THURSDAY... ...REPLACES FLASH FLOOD WARNING... * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...A portion of western New York, including the following counties, Livingston, Monroe and Ontario. * WHEN...Until 1215 AM EDT Thursday. * IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Low-water crossings are inundated with water and may not be passable. Expect many areas of slow moving or standing water. It will take several hours for all the water from these storms to work through local drainage systems in urban areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 612 PM EDT, the public reported heavy rain in the warned area due to thunderstorms. Flooding is already occurring. Between 2 and 3 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 0.25 to 0.5 inches are possible in the warned area. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Geneva, Canandaigua, Geneseo, Letchworth State Park, Avon, Mount Morris, Victor, Honeoye Falls, Conesus, Bristol, Caledonia, Lima, Clifton Springs, Scottsville, Phelps, Bloomfield, Honeoye, Hemlock, Farmington and Mendon. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
