At 259 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated strong thunderstorms, capable
of producing winds to around 30 knots and small hail. These
thunderstorms were located along a line extending from near Herod
Point to 8 nm southeast of Moriches Inlet, moving northeast at 35
knots. More thunderstorms were also located approximately 15 and 35
miles to the southwest of the aforementioned line.

Expect periodic thunderstorm activity over portions of the
aforementioned waters before 430 AM EDT.

Locations impacted include...
Great South Bay, Shinnecock Bay, Gardiners Island, Great Peconic Bay,
Westhampton Beach, Shinnecock Inlet, Fire Island Inlet, Montauk
Point, Moriches Inlet, and Napeague Bay.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Mariners can expect gusty winds to around 30 knots, locally higher
waves, lightning strikes, and heavy downpours. Boaters should seek
safe harbor immediately until these storms pass.
