...GALE WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 6 PM THIS EVENING TO 1 AM
EST FRIDAY...

* WHAT...Southwest winds 20 to 30 kt with gusts up to 45 kt and
seas 3 to 6 feet expected.

* WHERE...Long Island Sound west of the Orient Point and the
Connecticut River, New York Harbor, Peconic and Gardiners
Bays, and South Shore Bays from Jones Inlet through Shinnecock
Bay.

* WHEN...From 6 PM this evening to 1 AM EST Friday.

* IMPACTS...Strong winds will cause hazardous seas which could
capsize or damage vessels and reduce visibility.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Low water levels are possible near shore
during the daytime low tide on Thursday. Water levels may fall
to around -2 feet MLLW.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Mariners should alter plans to avoid these hazardous conditions.
Remain in port, seek safe harbor, alter course, and/or secure the
vessel for hazardous conditions.

* WHEN...From 6 AM to 10 PM EST Thursday.

* IMPACTS...Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree
limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result.

Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high
profile vehicles. Use extra caution.
