...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 215 AM EDT EARLY THIS MORNING... * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...A portion of southeast New York, including the following counties, Kings (Brooklyn), Nassau and Queens. * WHEN...Until 215 AM EDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1222 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated and area of heavy rain that will move through the area. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. - Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1.25 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Jamaica, Flatbush, Flushing, Valley Stream, Long Beach, Glen Cove, Coney Island, Garden City, Lynbrook, Mineola, Woodmere, Westbury, Rockaway Beach, Great Neck, Oyster Bay, Crown Heights, Kennedy Airport, The Verrazano Narrows Bridge, Jackson Heights and Forest Hills. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
