- Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 10.7
feet late this afternoon. It will then fall below flood stage
tomorrow evening.

MORNING...

* WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...Chenango River at Greene.

* WHEN...From this evening to late Tuesday morning.

* IMPACTS...At 15.0 feet, Moderate flood stage, the ball flats in
Greene are inundated, including Ball Flats Road. Water Street is
closed with homes on the east side of the street beginning to
flood. Flooding affects homes on Monell Street and Monell Street
Extension. Water spreads into the backyards of homes along N.
Chenango Street. Birdsall Creek may be backing up along N.
Chenango and Elm Street.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 10:00 AM EDT Sunday the stage was 6.7 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage
this evening to a crest of 14.7 feet just after midnight
tonight. It will then fall below flood stage late tomorrow
evening.
- Flood stage is 13.0 feet.

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected on the
Chenango River at Norwich.

* WHERE...A portion of central New York, including the following
county, Chenango.

* WHEN...Until 400 PM EDT Sunday.

* IMPACTS...The Chenango River at Norwich was at 8.42 feet and was
rising rapidly. The Chenango River at Norwich is expected to crest
around 10 feet around midday. At this level, minor river flood
occurs.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 904 AM EDT, Major flooding is ongoing in the warned area.
Between 3 and 5 inches of rain have fallen. At least 10
people are stranded in the Norwich area due to the flooding.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Norwich and Polkville.

The National Weather Service in Binghamton has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
Chenango County in central New York...

* Until 245 PM EDT.

* At 849 AM EDT, thunderstorms had produced heavy rain causing flash
flooding to occur across the Central and Northern portions of
Chenango County. Between 3 and 5 inches of rain have fallen. Major
flash flooding is already occurring and being reported across
Chenango County. Numerous roads and bridges are flooded, as well
as numerous homes taking on water, especially around Norwich,
Sherburne, and New Berlin. At least 10 people are stranded due to
flood waters. Chenango County is in a State of Emergency due to
the flooding. No unnecessary travel in Chenango County is allowed.

This is a FLASH FLOOD EMERGENCY for Chenango County. This is a
PARTICULARLY DANGEROUS SITUATION. SEEK HIGHER GROUND NOW!

HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms
producing flash flooding.

Donough and Smithville Flats.

Move to higher ground now! This is an extremely dangerous and
life-threatening situation. Do not attempt to travel unless you are
