...LAKE EFFECT SNOW WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL 8 AM EDT WEDNESDAY... * WHAT...Heavy lake effect snow. Additional snow accumulations between 6 and 12 inches along and north of Interstate 90. Winds gusting as high as 35 mph. * WHERE...Madison and Onondaga Counties. * WHEN...Until 8 AM EDT Wednesday. * IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult. The hazardous conditions could impact the Tuesday evening and Wednesday morning commutes. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Expect 6 to 12 inches of snow along and north of Interstate 90, with much lower amounts of 1 to 4 inches south. The heaviest snowfall is expected this evening into the overnight hours, with localized snowfall rates of 1 to 2 inches per hour at times. The snow quickly taper off to scattered snow showers and flurries around daybreak Wednesday morning. The highest snowfall amounts are expected in the Clay, Cicero and Brewerton area. The City of Syracuse is forecast to see only 1 to 3 inches of snow. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
