New York Harbor... Sandy Hook NJ to Fire Island Inlet NY out 20 nm... Long Island South Shore Bays... At 755 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated strong thunderstorms, capable of producing winds to around 30 knots. These thunderstorms were located along a line extending from near Saddle Rock to Sandy Hook Bay to near Port Monmouth, moving east at 15 knots. Locations impacted include... Barnum Island, Sandy Hook Bay, East Bay, Lower New York Harbor, Jones Beach, South Oyster Bay, Raritan Bay, Island Park, Entrance to New York Harbor, and Rockaway Inlet. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Mariners can expect gusty winds to around 30 knots, locally higher waves, lightning strikes, and heavy downpours.
