...WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 AM EST WEDNESDAY...

* WHAT...Heavy snow. Additional snow accumulations between 2 and 8
inches with localized higher amounts possible. Winds gusting as
high as 50 mph.

* WHERE...Madison, Northern Oneida, Onondaga, Southern Cayuga, and
Southern Oneida Counties.

* WHEN...Until 7 AM EST Wednesday.

* IMPACTS...Visibilities may drop below 1/4 mile due to falling and
blowing snow. Whiteout conditions are expected and will make
travel treacherous and potentially life-threatening. Travel could
be very difficult. The hazardous conditions could impact the
Tuesday evening and Wednesday morning commutes. Gusty winds could
bring down tree branches.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Lake effect snow bands will continue to move
north this evening and tonight with the heaviest snow expected
along the NYS Thruway Corridor late today and overnight. Snowfall
rates may exceed 1 inch per hour this afternoon and evening. Winds
will remain gusty through the afternoon and late evening hours
leading to drifting snow and whiteout conditions, especially in
open areas.
