...WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 AM EST THURSDAY... * WHAT...Heavy snow expected. Total snow accumulations between 7 and 12 inches with locally higher amounts between 12 to 14 inches along the south facing slopes of the Adirondacks in Herkimer and Hamilton Counties. * WHERE...Hamilton, Northern Fulton, and Northern Herkimer Counties. * WHEN...Until 7 AM EST Thursday. * IMPACTS...Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, will likely become slick and hazardous. Plan on slippery road conditions. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Additional snowfall amounts of up to 3 to 8 inches are expected through this evening and tonight. Snowfall rates could exceed 1 inch per hours this afternoon. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency. Be prepared for slippery roads. Slow down and use caution while driving. If you are going outside, watch your first few steps taken on stairs, sidewalks, and driveways. These surfaces could be icy and slippery, increasing your risk of a fall and injury. &&
