FOR WESTERN BROOME...SOUTHERN MADISON...CORTLAND...SOUTHERN
CHEMUNG...TIOGA...SOUTHEASTERN TOMPKINS AND CHENANGO COUNTIES...

At 932 PM EDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line
extending from near De Ruyter to near Lawrenceville, moving east at
35 mph.

HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage to
roofs, siding, and trees.

Locations impacted include...
Binghamton, Elmira, Vestal, Johnson City, Endicott, Southport,
Barton, Norwich, Maine, and Waverly.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 1100 PM EDT for central New
York.

Remain alert for a possible tornado! Tornadoes can develop quickly
from severe thunderstorms. If you spot a tornado go at once into the
basement or small central room in a sturdy structure.

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.

* WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible.

* WHERE...Portions of central New York, including the following
areas, Broome, Chemung, Chenango, Cortland, Delaware, Madison,
Onondaga, Otsego, Schuyler, Seneca, Southern Cayuga, Southern
Oneida, Steuben, Sullivan, Tioga, Tompkins and Yates and northeast
Pennsylvania, including the following areas, Bradford, Northern
Wayne and Susquehanna.

* WHEN...From 4 PM EDT this afternoon through Thursday morning.

* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- Several inches of rain this morning will be combined with an
additional 1 to 3 inches or more of rain later today and through
early Thursday morning. Training thunderstorms with heavy rain
could also enhance the threat for excessive runoff and flash
flooding across the region.
