At 632 AM EST, Doppler radar indicated a snow squall, capable of
producing winds to around 30 knots. This snow squall was located
along a line extending from 9 nm south of Smithtown Bay to near
Jones Beach to 11 nm northwest of Silverton, moving east at 40 knots.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Mariners can expect brief whiteout conditions, a sudden wind shift
to the northwest, gusty winds to around 30 knots and locally higher
waves.

* Until 715 AM EST.

* At 630 AM EST, a snow squall was located along a line extending
from 7 miles northwest of Port Jefferson to near Brentwood to Jones
Beach, moving east at 55 mph.

HAZARD...Intense bursts of heavy snow. Gusty winds leading to
blowing snow and rapidly falling visibility. Wind gusts
greater than 35 mph.

IMPACT...Travel will become difficult and potentially dangerous
within minutes.

kt with gusts up to 30 kt and seas 3 to 6 feet. For the Gale
Warning, northwest winds 20 to 30 kt with gusts up to 35 kt
and seas 4 to 6 feet expected.

* WHERE...Sandy Hook NJ to Fire Island Inlet NY out 20 nm.

* WHEN...For the Small Craft Advisory, until 6 AM EST early this
morning. For the Gale Warning, from 6 AM this morning to 6 PM
EST this evening.

* IMPACTS...Strong winds will cause hazardous seas which could
capsize or damage vessels and reduce visibility.
