...WINTER STORM WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 7 PM MONDAY TO 7 PM EST THURSDAY... * WHAT...Heavy snow expected. Total snow accumulations 8 to 18 inches. Winds gusting as high as 55 mph creating blowing and drifting snow and whiteout conditions. * WHERE...Wayne and Northern Cayuga Counties. * WHEN...From 7 PM Monday to 7 PM EST Thursday. * IMPACTS...Whiteout conditions are expected making travel very difficult at times. The hazardous conditions will impact travel through the week. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Heaviest snowfall and strongest winds expected Monday night through Tuesday evening with lingering lake snows continuing through mid-week. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Widespread accumulating snow will create dangerous travel conditions. Submit snow reports through our website or social media. During lake effect snow, the weather can vary from bands of locally heavy snow with greatly reduced visibilities to dry conditions just a few miles away.
