...FLOOD WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL 1 AM EDT WEDNESDAY...

* WHAT...Urban area and small stream flooding caused by excessive
rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...A portion of central New York, including the following
counties, Broome, Chenango, Delaware, Madison, Oneida, Otsego and
Sullivan.

* WHEN...Until 100 AM EDT.

* IMPACTS...Streams continue to rise due to excess runoff from
current rainfall. It will take several hours for all the water to
work through local drainage systems in urban areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 700 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain. Areas of
urban and small stream flooding are already occurring in the
warned area. Between 1 and 1.5 inches of rain have fallen.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Utica, Rome, Oneonta, Oneida, Norwich, Hamilton, Walton,
Delhi, Camden, Boonville, Cooperstown, New Hartford, Deposit,
Sullivan, Lenox, Lee, Verona, Westmoreland, Vienna and
Chittenango.

...FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 2 AM EDT WEDNESDAY...

* WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be
possible.

* WHERE...Portions of central New York, including the following
areas, Delaware, Otsego and Sullivan and northeast Pennsylvania,
including the following area, Northern Wayne.

* WHEN...Until 2 AM EDT Wednesday.

* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Area creeks and
streams are running high and could flood with more heavy rain.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- Thunderstorms develop this evening associated with an upper
level low pressure system. These storms will be slow moving
and could train over the same locations. The rain and storms
are forecast to taper off and end around or just after
midnight.
