HAZARDS...A band of heavy snow accompanied by winds of up to 20 to 30 MPH which can rapidly reduce visibility to less than one mile and result in blowing and drifting snow that can recover roadways. LOCATION AND MOVEMENT...At 130 PM EST, a band of heavy snow was along a line extending from near Delanson to Loudonville to near Becket. The heavy snow band was nearly stationary. LOCATIONS IMPACTED INCLUDE... Albany, Schenectady, Troy, Pittsfield, Rotterdam, East Greenbush, Watervliet, Rensselaer, Colonie, Nassau, Delmar, Latham, Guilderland, Duanesburg, Lee, Lenox, Menands, Stephentown, Voorheesville, and New Lebanon. This includes the following highways... Interstate 88 between exits 24 and 25. Interstate 90 between exits 10 and 25a. Interstate 890 between exits 7 and 9. Interstate 87 between exits 21A and 6. Interstate 787 between exits 1 and 8. SAFETY INFO... Conditions can deteriorate rapidly in winter weather situations. Be prepared for snow or ice covered roads.
