The storm which prompted the warning has moved out of the area. Therefore, the warning will be allowed to expire, however a severe thunderstorm warning remains for the Southern Tier, Wyoming and Livingston Counties. A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 1100 PM EDT for western New York. &&

Southwestern Livingston County in western New York... Chautauqua County in western New York... Allegany County in western New York... * Until 915 PM EDT. * At 755 PM EDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from near Letchworth State Park to near Ashford Hollow to Chautauqua Institution, moving south at 35 mph. HAZARD...70 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect considerable tree damage. Wind damage is also likely to mobile homes, roofs, and outbuildings. * Locations impacted include... Jamestown, Olean, Salamanca, Dansville, Wellsville, Allegany State Park, Letchworth State Park, Alfred, Lakewood, and Falconer. This includes the following highways... Interstate 390 between exits 4 and 5. Interstate 86 between exits 4 and 33. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... This is a DANGEROUS SITUATION. These storms are producing widespread wind damage across Western New York. SEEK SHELTER NOW inside a sturdy structure and stay away from windows!
