...FLOOD WARNING IN EFFECT FROM THIS EVENING TO SATURDAY MORNING... * WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Oneida Creek at Oneida. * WHEN...From this evening to Saturday morning. * IMPACTS...At 11.0 feet, Flood Stage. Low lying areas in the Town of Verona, and near Oneida Castle, flood. No homes, businesses, or infrastructure are affected. At 11.5 feet, Water spreads across Highland Avenue, cutting off some residences from accessing Prospect Street. Low lying areas in the Town of Verona north of Sconondoa Street flood as water backs up along Sconondoa Creek. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 3:15 PM EDT Friday the stage was 2.0 feet. - Bankfull stage is 10.0 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rapidly rise above flood stage this evening to a crest of 11.8 feet. ...FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 PM EDT THIS EVENING FOR SOUTHWESTERN MADISON COUNTY... At 416 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1.5 and 3 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas. Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Cazenovia, Morrisville, Stockbridge, Nelson, Peterboro and Munnsville. Oneida Creek is expected to rise rapidly between Stockbridge and the City of Oneida in the next few hours. Prepare for flash flooding along this waterway. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
