...FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT FROM 8 PM EDT THIS EVENING THROUGH SATURDAY MORNING... * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible. * WHERE...Portions of northeast New Jersey, including the following areas, Eastern Bergen, Eastern Essex, Eastern Passaic, Eastern Union, Hudson, Western Bergen, Western Essex, Western Passaic and Western Union and southeast New York, including the following areas, Northern Westchester, Orange, Putnam, Rockland and Southern Westchester. * WHEN...From 8 PM EDT this evening through Saturday morning. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in isolated to scattered instances of flash flooding of urban and poor drainage areas, as well as a few quick responding rivers, creeks, and streams. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - An area of low pressure will track across the region tonight, likely bringing 1 to 2, locally 3+, inches of rainfall across the watch area. Rainfall rates may be as high as 1 to 2 inches per hour in the heaviest and most persistent rain.
