Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...The strongest winds occur between 5 PM and 10 PM this evening from near Malone to Ellenburg Depot to Altona. ...RED FLAG WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM NOON TODAY TO 8 PM EDT THIS EVENING FOR GUSTY WINDS AND LOW HUMIDITY FOR THE ST LAWRENCE VALLEY... * AFFECTED AREA...In New York, the St. Lawrence Valley, which includes portions of St. Lawrence and Franklin Counties of New York. * Timing...The lowest humidities and strongest winds will occur between 1 PM and 6 PM on Sunday. * WINDS...South 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 40 mph. * RELATIVE HUMIDITY...As low as 30 to 35 percent. * TEMPERATURES...Highs between 75 and 80 degrees. * Impacts...If any fires were to start the weather and fuel conditions could cause fires to quickly get out of control and be difficult to contain. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... A Red Flag Warning means that dangerous fire weather conditions are expected due to the combination of gusty winds, low relative humidities, and dry fuels.
